A group of nursing students from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette plans to help the homeless by handing out supplies and providing health checks. Students will be set up in the parking lot at St. Bernadette’s Clinic on April 30 from 9 am to 1 pm. It is an event that they are calling, Giving H.O.P.E.
Nursing students will be handing out everyday essentials like shampoo, toothbrushes, and blankets. Last year, they had over 200 people show so they are expecting a pretty big crowd. And unfortunately, they did not have enough supplies for all of the homeless individuals. This year, they definitely do not want to run out of supplies. So, they need your help. You can donate! Jessica McCarthy is heading up this event. She has created a list of things needed. Anyone wanting to help can bring the donations to Room 209 inside Wharton Hall.
