Phones. We love our phones. We need our phones to remember our appointments, remember phone numbers and to tell us the quickest way to get to Target. Basically, the cell phone has become an extension of our brain. Life is so much easier now that we have phones. GPS, banking apps and finding out how to cook a turkey, the smartphone is a lifesaver. But on the other hand, smartphones are also killing us, slowly. From texting and walking off a cliff to hackers stealing your valuable photos. Smartphones cause turmoil and stress. Of course, some of these mishaps are avoidable but what about the blue light.

The light that emits from phones and tablet. Many researchers suggest that this blue light stimulates the brain leading to a disruption in sleep at night. This blue light can also damage eyesight. To avoid these side effects, researchers advise avoiding checking your phone a few hours before heading to bed. But is that logical? What if you are waiting for your kid to get home from work? Or if you received a text message? Many people are so far gone into this phone addiction, it is hard to stay off even right before bedtime.

Scientists may have discovered a solution to this problem. And it’s pretty simple. Just wear glasses while looking at your phone.

Researchers in Amsterdam have discovered that if you wear a special type of glasses while looking at your phone this will shield your eyes from the blue light and lead to a better night’s sleep. According to this study, wearing these glasses offer the same protection to your eyes and brain as turning off your phone. In fact, those involved in the study who wore these glasses slept better and had more energy.

The only thing is, these special magic glasses are not yet available to buy.
