Louisiana’s “Celebration Riverboat”, winner of the 2023 Showmanship Award, cruises the streets of Pasadena, California, during the 134th Rose Parade with Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser at the helm.

The Louisiana Office of Tourism took home a big award during the recent 134th Rose Parade in California. Thanks to the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, Louisiana was honored with the 2023 Showmanship Award for it’s “Celebration Riverboat” float pictured above.

This award is given to the float that best conveys showmanship and entertainment. The float also included a live performance by Louisiana’s music ambassador Lainey Wilson. Wilson is a native of Baskin, Louisiana. She sang a few songs at the halfway mark of the parade. She has recently been named the 2022 Academy of Country Music New Female of the Year.

This was the second time Louisiana participated in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. Winning this award could encourage millions to visit the Bayou State.
